As a member you will have a chance to review workouts to determine which level would be right for you. Our suggestion would be start lower and work your way up. Although workout distances will vary based upon what we are working on, use the following guide as a good indication.
Reminder, in competitive swimming terms….. one mile = 1650 yards
Advanced…..Swimmers who have a strong swimming background and are proficient in all four competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle).
Workout distance range
….Advanced/90 min = 4000 – 5000 yard/meter
….Advanced/60 min = 2500 – 3500 yard/meter
Intermediate….Swimmers who have some swimming background, or have come to the sport later in life. These swimmers should be proficient in Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke.
….Intermediate/60 min = 2000 – 3000 yard/meter
Beginner….Swimmers who have a limited swimming background. Beginners are not non-swimmers, but rather individuals who use swimming as their main source of fitness yet are limited physically or by their experience.
Proficiency in any of the competitive strokes is acceptable.
….Beginner/60 min = 1500 – 2000 yard/meter
….Beginner/30 min = 750 – 1000 yard/meter
These are all flexible estimates and are subject to your personal adjustments.
